    Ponchatoula is the “Strawberry Capital of the World”! Our delicious strawberries are available from November to April. Strawberry farmers past and present have been honored with the “Strawberry Farmer Wall of Fame” located in front of Ponchatoula City Hall. In 2001 the Louisiana Legislature selected the strawberry as the state fruit. The Annual Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival is held the second weekend of April every year and is the second largest festival in the state of Louisiana. This three day outdoor free festival is located in historic downtown Ponchatoula, featuring antique, collectible, fine arts and crafts booths. Food vendors feature local cuisine and fun festival food. Live music to be enjoyed by all! Children’s Activities include, pony rides, inflatable slide, bungy jumping, face painting. Ponchatoula earned the title of America’s Antique City for its many antique, collectible shops, art galleries and specialty shops housed in our wonderful old historic buildings. In addition we have some wonderful local restaurants from home style cooking to casual fine dining. There are lodging and RV parks nearby.
