Ponchatoula is the “Strawberry Capital of the World”! Our delicious strawberries are available from November to April. Strawberry farmers past and present have been honored with the “Strawberry Farmer Wall of Fame” located in front of Ponchatoula City Hall. In 2001 the Louisiana Legislature selected the strawberry as the state fruit. The Annual Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival is held the second weekend of April every year and is the second largest festival in the state of Louisiana. Mission Statement
The mission of the Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce is to promote and advance the economic development of the Ponchatoula community. Furthermore, we will work with community leaders, businesses, and organizations to meet the needs of the citizens of the Ponchatoula area and Tangipahoa Parish Region.
