Ponchatoula is the “Strawberry Capital of the World”! Our delicious strawberries are available from November to April. Strawberry farmers past and present have been honored with the “Strawberry Farmer Wall of Fame” located in front of Ponchatoula City Hall. In 2001 the Louisiana Legislature selected the strawberry as the state fruit. The Annual Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival is held the second weekend of April every year and is the second largest festival in the state of Louisiana. Chamber of Commerce Business Expo

The Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce Business Expo is held every year in August. This year the event will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2013.

The Business Expo, showcasing local businesses and organizations locally owned and operated, began in 1995. To this day the event garners the support and participation of most local businesses in the community and has huge public attendance. The occasion provides local businesses and service providers an opportunity to display wares, network with other businesses and community members, build a client list, and speak to the public about their services.
