Ponchatoula is “Strawberry Capital of the World”. Our delicious strawberries are available from November to April. Strawberry farmers past and present have been honored with the “Strawberry Farmer Wall of Fame” located in front of city hall. In 2001 the Louisiana Legislature selected the strawberry as the state fruit. Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival is held in April of every year and is the second largest festival in the state. Chamber of Commerce Business Expo

The Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce Business Expo is held every year in August.

The Business Expo began in 1995 when the Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce saw the need for the businesses of the city to interact with each other and the citizenry.
To this day the event garners most local businesses in the community and has a huge attendance. The occasion provides local businesses and service providers an opportunity to display wares, network, build a client list, and speak to many members of the public about their services.

Ponchatoula showcases its expanding economic development to all the new citizens who have settled in our city, and gave our previously settled population a view all the benefits of our expanding opportunities in Ponchatoula business and services.
